House to Fillière

Located within the Greater Annecy area, Fillière was created by the merger on 1 January 2017 of the municipalities of Aviernoz, Évires, Les Ollières, Saint-Martin-Bellevue and Thorens-Glières. This unification has given rise to an entity in which the former communes have been preserved as delegated communes, retaining their identity, their territory and their distinctive character.

With a population of 9,781, Fillière is the second most populous commune in the Greater Annecy conurbation. It also stands out for its size, making it the second-largest commune in the Haute-Savoie department. Essentially rural, it is dotted with five market towns of varying sizes and surrounded by vast stretches of woodland. The Fillière river, which runs through the municipality before joining the Fier, provides access to emblematic sites such as the Plateau des Glières, the site of the French Resistance, as well as sports facilities and mountain pastures. Its economic activity is concentrated mainly in the west, near the town of Annecy.
